What is the LSC?
Otherwise known as The Life Stand Compact, this remarkable electric wheelchair has the power to allow me to stand supported in an upright position and move (effectively walk) rather than be restricted to only being able to drive/move sat down. Some of the many benefits of the LSC include strengthening leg muscles and gradually improving muscle tone which is vital for standing, also helping with your general posture.
My view on the LSC
From a personal point of view this chair has and I hope will continue to change my life, I am not ashamed of my disability however I longed for the day when I would be able to stand tall and thanks to this remarkable piece of equipment I not only have the option of standing tall I can also move from A to B whist standing too. I will be forever thankful to everyone involved in every aspect from arranging fittings/test drive, I am especially thankful to the two organisations that have helped with the funding for the chair.
