Ambitions we all have them, I realise how lucky I am and am thankful for the level of mobility I have, however I long to push the boundaries and challenge peoples perceptions of how they see disabled people.
I admire people who push the boundaries and take risks, I myself am very passionate about dance and whilst I know there are some things in life that are impossible for me, does that mean I should stop dreaming? and that there are not ways around things?
When I was growing up I used to dream of what it would be like to fly suspended in a harnesses and the idea of feeling light. I imagine it wouldn't be that much different from absailing and that is something I have been lucky enough to achieve, with assistance of course!
As for flying, yes there are risks involved and it may not even be physically possible for me, but as I am yet to experience it I do not know , however as long as we as people are realistic about our capabilities and always think of their safety first then it shows a high level of responsibility.
I have such a hunger for performance, not fame or attention, so many people these days want to be famous for their lifestyle. I can honestly say hand on heart all I would like is to introduce the public to something different, something that perhaps they wouldn't expect to see from someone with a disability.
If for whatever reason I can't do something, I focus on moving to the next challenge or project
I believe to get what you want from life you have to be committed, dedicated and determined You have to be prepared to put the work in.
With regards to the future all I hope is that I am a success in the profession on merit not on pity, to be respected as an individual performer more importantly as to the person I am.
